Registration will take place between 5.00pm - 8.00pm on the 27th February 2026 and between 5.30am - 6.30am on Saturday 28th February 2026 at the registration tent which is located next to the Mount Maunganui Cenotaph on Marine Parade.

Starting at the Mount Maunganui Cenotaph you’ll run/walk away from Mauao along the Marine Parade Coastal Pathway. 

Continue out along the Pathway to your turnaround point at Beach Access 2.18 near Sutherland Ave.  Follow the same course back to the finish line!

12KM BEACH RUN

The 12 km option consists of two laps of a 6 km course. Starting at the Mount Maunganui Cenotaph, you’ll head away from Mauao along the Marine Parade Coastal Pathway. 

Continue along the Pathway until you reach the turnaround at the 3.69 Beach Access near the end of Marine Parade. Then return to the start line to complete one lap and repeat for the second lap to finish the full 12 km.

INFORMATION

General

  • Your race number (attached to your front with pins which are available at registration or to a race belt)

  • Baby's/Toddlers in pram do not need to be registered.

Accessible course

  • All 3 distances can utilise the Marine Parade Coastal Pathway

  • Everyday wheelchair to be used

  • Electric wheel chairs are permitted

  • Prams are permitted on both the beach and accessible courses

 

Dogs

  • Dogs must be on a lead that is no longer than 2m long at all times.

  • Ensure that your dog is kept under effective control at all times.

  • Ensure that your dog does not injure, endanger, intimidate or distress any person, animal or wildlife.

  • Please clean up after your dog and use the bags and bins provided.

 

Self Seeding:

Athletes will be asked to ‘self seed’ at the start line. 

  • If you are competitive and expect to be fast please move to the front of your distance wave. 

  • If you are doing the race for fun and expect to take your time or walk the course please move to the back of your distance wave.

  • If you're somewhere in between we’d like you to go in the middle.

Ultimate athlete doesn't offer refunds, but does offer transfers to other races or athletes when available. This must  be requested by contacting our team prior to the 26th February 2026.

You can change your event category up until 26th February 2025 at no charge. An additional cost will also apply if you are changing to an event category with a higher entry price.

We'd like to reassure you that if Ultimate Beach Run can’t go ahead

on February the 28th 2026 for any unforeseen circumstances:

If possible we may reschedule to a future date. If the event can't be

rescheduled we offer you the following options:

  • Transfer of your entry to an alternative Ultimate Athlete event.

  • An event credit for a future Ultimate Athlete Event.

  • Full refund.

Safety is paramount.

Safety is paramount. We strive to continually improve our event in order to ensure it is as safe as possible.

Emergency Plans

We could have a fire, earthquake or similar emergency.
Follow all instructions from event personnel who may hold you at locations or lead you to safety.

What to do if you are injured / ill or just cannot continue:

1.    Stay calm.
3.    Stop the next athlete going past you and ask for help.
4.    Apply first aid to yourself.
5.    Wait for assistance.

 

We have event Medics who will get to you as soon as they can. Once a medic has assessed you, you will either be allowed to continue, transported by St John or picked up by one of the event ATVs and taken to the finish line.
